Hurricane Harvey made landfall last month as a category 4 hurricane – the strongest storm to hit the U.S. in the last 10 years. The aftermath has been devastating as thousands of people have been displaced, many who are currently living in temporary shelters and have lost everything.

The rain and flooding have slowed but the damage left in Harvey’s wake will be lasting. Schools in affected communities remain closed until safe, but as they finally reopen, many children will still have nothing, especially back-to-school items.

As the new school year in NYC commences and in the spirit of helping our neighbors in Texas, the Center for Educational Innovation (CEI) will be holding a donation drive for new school uniforms to send directly to the Houston Independent School District to provide support and assistance to those in need.

If you would like to donate, please visit CEI’s Amazon Wish List to send new uniforms directly to Houston’s school children. Note: When filling out the order form, select the following address to ship directly to the Houston Independent School District – Delmar Fieldhouse, 2020 Mangum Road, Houston, TX, 77092.

If you have any questions please email Annie Syso at asyso@the-cei.org.
